THE O'MALLEY FACTOR

"What right do you have to condemn your neighbor?"  James 4:11 NLT

We share our home with two sibling cats, or more accurately, they share their home with us!  Delaney's a quiet affectionate soul, while O'Malley's a predator, and a world-class backbiter!

For reasons known only to God and himself, he waits until Delaney's back is turned, then he pounces on her and bites her.  Like all seasoned backbiters, he . . . acts without warning . . . his attacks are unprovoked . . . his victims can't defend themselves . . . and he does it to get attention.

Backbiting - how often have you engaged in it, and afterwards, wished you hadn't even opened your mouth?

When you backbite, others may listen to what you have to say, but they'll never trust you.  Why?  Because they know that what you say to them, you'll also say about them.  You see, when you hurt someone by gossip and innuendo, it says much more about your character than theirs!

Listen, "Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord?  Who may enter your presence?  Those who refuse to slander others, or harm their neighbors, or speak evil of their friends . . . such people will stand firm forever" (Psalm 15:1-5 NLT).

Do you want to pray with confidence?  Do you want His presence and His approval on all that you do?  If so, DON'T BACKBITE!
